China achieves its first successful long-distance directional drilling with a single wellbore and two pullers.
On August 11, a reporter learned from Liaohe Oil Construction Company No. 1 Cross-Engineering Company that the company successfully completed the Qinghe directional drilling crossing of the fifth section of the Daqing-Jinxi crude oil pipeline project (Chuayang-Tieling section), marking the first time in China that a long-distance "one-hole double-pull" directional drilling crossing has been achieved.

On August 11, this author learned from Liaohe Oil Construction Company No. 1's Cross-Engineering Company that the company successfully completed the Qinghe directional drilling crossing for section five of the Daqing-Jinxi crude oil pipeline project (Chuayang-Tieling section), marking the first time in China that a long-distance "one-hole, two-pull" directional drilling crossing has been achieved.
The Qinghe crossing project is located approximately 2 kilometers north of Anyemin Village, Yemin Town, Kaiyuan City, Liaoning Province. It involves the simultaneous directional drilling crossing of an 813-millimeter oil pipeline and an 114.3-millimeter optical cable casing. The construction area is primarily composed of gravel, sand, and mudstone layers. The directional drilling crossing section is 1625 meters long, making it a large-scale river crossing project.
To complete the Qinghe crossing task on schedule, the Liaohe No. 1 Construction Da-Jin Pipeline Project Department organized scientifically, worked day and night to overcome the challenges of high temperatures, and employed a method of simultaneous hole expansion and leak plugging. This overcame difficulties such as insufficient slurry return in the many small holes at the riverbed, high return pulling force and friction, and uneven ground strata. The return pulling task was successfully completed without any slurry leakage along the line, earning high praise from the owner, supervisor, and local government.

Kongwang steel strip polyethylene composite pipe
Kongwang perforated steel belt polyethylene composite pipe is a composite pipe material with a perforated steel pipe welded from cold-rolled steel strip as the reinforcing skeleton and composite thermoplastic plastic. Due to the introduction of the reinforcing skeleton, the pressure resistance of the pipe is significantly improved. Different types and grades of thermoplastic plastics can be used to produce composite pipe materials for different purposes. The perforated steel belt plastic pipes produced by the company are divided into several uses according to their uses: water supply, underground gas, hot water, chemical, and special uses.
Development prospects of large-diameter (large-caliber) pressure pipes
The application of plastic pipes, both domestically and internationally, started with smaller diameters and gradually developed towards larger diameters. (There is no defined definition for large diameter; in this article, large diameter refers to diameters of 800mm and above.) It is worth noting that in recent years, there has been a major international trend towards the development of large-diameter plastic pipes, driven by environmental protection. As is well known, the world is currently facing a battle against climate change, and all countries must bear the responsibility of reducing carbon emissions. In the pipeline industry, there is undoubtedly a need to pay more attention to environmental impact.
